Research

Research and teaching areas of the chair

Through the participating professorships, the chair focuses on the following subject areas:

  • Electrochemical energy storage & energy management systems: Li-ion & post-Li batteries – modelling & aging – layout & system design – operational optimization
  • Electric drives and machines: Drive converters & control – Characterization & optimization of electrical machines
  • Electric hydrogen systems: Electrochemical energy conversion – HT-PEM fuel cells – Vanadium redox flow batteries

This enables us to work comprehensively on key topics of the energy transition and drive them forward in research projects and alliances with partners from science and industry as well as on direct industrial orders. We have extensive and efficient laboratory facilities at our disposal for our research.
